International Studies seeks faculty, staff advisors to choose Spring 2020 trips
The International Studies Department is looking for faculty and staff to serve as proposal committee members who will choose the 2020 student travel destinations.
“This is a stellar opportunity to support the International Studies Department,” Coordinator Jessica Miller said. “You will help shape the student experience by choosing where students will learn abroad next year.”
Faculty and staff may sign up by emailing Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Wednesday, July 10. Volunteers will help with the destination selection process by reviewing the international studies proposal online in SharePoint. An email containing instructions on how to view and rate the proposal will be sent to volunteers Monday, July 15. Committee members will review and fill out the rubric in preparation for the International Studies Proposal Committee meeting that is 11 a.m.-2 p.m., July 31, in Room MB139 on the Macon Cove Campus. Volunteers should bring a hard copy of their scoring rubric. Lunch will be served as a token of the department’s appreciation.
The International Studies program serves as the advocate and catalyst for international education by providing study abroad opportunities for Southwest students. The college is committed to promoting a better understanding of global issues and respect for global diversity, and empowering students to understand and appreciate the complexities and contradictions within their own culture.
