MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Fine-tuning our governance structure

As we move forward in our Focus 2020 goals to promote student success and fuel social mobility among our graduates, fine-tuning our governance structure is a key tactic that will help us reach our goals.  Therefore, I am establishing the Institutional Affairs Council or IAC.  The purpose of this council is to address and make recommendations concerning the college climate and issues such as:

  • Business process efficiencies
  • Technology needs
  • Employee appreciation and recognition
  • Employee morale and engagement
  • Equity and inclusion

All full-time employees below the director level, as well as adjunct faculty, are eligible to serve.  Interested employees should notify their immediate supervisor no later than Oct. 4, 2019, who in turn, will submit recommendations to Iliana Ricelli at iricelli@southwest.tn.edu.

The first IAC meeting is Oct. 9, 2019.  Based on recommendations from supervisors, President Hall will determine those members selected for the Council. The selected members will be notified by Oct. 7 and sent details for the initial meeting Oct. 9.
