This program is designed to enhance communication skills for the achievement of
personal and academic enrichment and career advancement through studies in
language, literature, art, music, speech, film and theatre.
Areas of Emphasis:
Students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution to earn a
baccalaureate degree in any of the areas listed above may follow the sequence of
general education and elective courses outlined in each section (click the
appropriate link). Completing this sequence of courses will result in the
attainment of an Associate of Arts degree from Southwest Tennessee Community
College.
Students for whom English is a second language may take courses in the ESL Program. Additionally, there are designated sections of composition
