Are you ready to take on a leadership role? Do you want to serve your fellow students? Be the change you want to see at Southwest, take an active role in the Student Government Association.

The Student Government Association is a bridge between students, faculty and administration. The SGA is responsible for aiding the student body with any of their concerns and making sure the appropriate individuals are contacted and notified of the problems the students may or may not have. SGA members attend meetings on a regular basis and serve on at least one committee at the school.

All students interested in running for a SGA seat are encouraged to submit an online application before the deadline. Applications are also available in the Macon Cove and Union Avenue Campus Student Development.

  • President
  • Vice Presidents (three posisions, Macon Cove Campus, Union Avenue Campus and satellite centers/site)
  • Sergeant at Arms
  • Co-Treasurer (two positions)
  • Secretary
  • Parliamentarian
  • Representatives


Note: Paper applications must be returned no later than 4:30 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017.

SGA elections for the 2017-2018 school year will be held online through the My.Southwest portal from 12:01 a.m., April 12 till 11:59 p.m., April 13, 2017.
