Karen Zissoff is executive and artistic director for Dance Works, Inc. The dance program offers graded courses in classical ballet ,which follow the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabi. It is based at STCC's Fine Arts, Language and Literature Department.
Zissoff said her company's summer program will run through August 3. A Chance To Dance is designed to introduce youth to the arts, and there is a special focus on reaching inner-city youngsters, she said. The sessions are taught by guest choreographers and musicians.
In the Informance concerts, students will share with the audience different dance idioms such as classical ballet, African dance, jazz, creative movement and character dance.
