Enjoy An Evening with Graphic Arts at Southwest

The Department of Graphic Arts Technology at Southwest Tennessee Community College (Southwest) invites you to An Evening with Graphic Arts from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, May 2. The new Southwest Media Gallery will be the setting for this educational outreach event. The Gallery is located on the Macon Cove Campus, 5983 Macon Cove, in the Farris Building. This event is free and open to the public.

The evening will begin (4-6 p.m.) with the Department of Graphic Arts Technology hosting the Grand Opening of the Southwest Media Gallery. This event will feature recent works of faculty members in the department. Continuing the celebration, from 6-8 p.m., portfolios of graduating Graphic Arts Technology students will be on display during the Southwest Portfolio Review and Showcase, in the Farris Building, Meeting Rooms A&C.

The evening will also feature the musical talents of the Southwest Faculty Jazz Ensemble. Free refreshments will be available to all attendees.

Southwest's Graphic Arts Technology curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for careers in the graphic arts and communications industries as interactive multimedia graphics production specialists. The course offerings include electronic graphic functions, layout, typography, scanning, photo manipulation, digital imaging, illustration, video editing, special effects, sound editing, internet publishing, quality control, color process, and project management.
