Southwest's TECTA Provides Free Training for Child Care Workers
Southwest Tennessee Community College is offering 30 hours of free training for individuals who work with children at day care centers, licensed child care homes, and registered child care homes. This community outreach initiative is provided through the Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA). The classes are held at the Union Avenue Campus, 737 Union Avenue.
This innovative program is designed to give specialized training for various types of child care. TECTA presents workshops for Infant - Toddler Care, Center - Based Care, Family Child Care, School - Age Care, and Administrators of Centers.
The program also offers technical assistance to any licensed or registered child care home, Child Care Development Scholarships for TECTA students, and consulting support for facilities that are seeking national accreditation. All of these services are available at absolutely no cost for the client.
