The Southwest softball team swept Coahoma Community College in a doubleheader last Thursday in Batesville, Mississippi by scores of 32-0 and 22-0, improving its record to 16-24 on the season.

There were several top hitters on the day for the Lady Saluqis – Erica Brich (5 for 6, 7 runs, 5 runs batted in, 4 stolen bases), Jessica Laubacker (4 for 6, 6 RBI), Crystal Smith (4 for 7, 5 runs), and Erin Cook (3 for 7, 5 runs, 6 RBI), In game one, Caryn Hubbard tossed her second no-hitter of the season, striking out seven of the nine batters she faced.

Southwest returns to action on Tuesday, April 19 when the Lady Saluqis travel to Fulton, Mississippi to take on Itawamba Community College in a 2 p.m. doubleheader. On Thursday, April 21, Southwest will play a 3 p.m. doubleheader against Crowley’s Ridge College in Paragould, Arkansas.
