Southwest Men Split In
Pensacola Classic

The Southwest men’s basketball team split its two games over the weekend
in the Collegiate Sports Travel Shootout in Pensacola, Florida,
defeating Pensacola Junior College 96-85 on Saturday, December 31, after
losing 85-81 to top-ranked Chipola Junior College on Friday, December
30. The Saluqis’ record now stands at 12-3 on the season.
In Southwest’s win over Pensacola, the Saluqis overcame a nine-point
halftime deficit, outscoring Pensacola 60-40 in the second half on the
strength of 65 percent field goal shooting. Several players had
outstanding games for Southwest, including Lester Hudson (22 points, 6
assists), Moraye Ivy (20 points, 10 rebounds), Anthony Pigram (19
points), and Donald Boone (18 points).
The Saluqis’ next game will be on Friday, January 13, against
Chattanooga State Technical and Community College at the Verties Sails
Gymnasium.
