LADY SALUQIS SEASON ENDS WITH LOSS TO MOTLOW IN REGION SEMIFINALS

The Southwest womens basketball team saw its season come to an end as
the Lady Saluqis dropped a hard-fought 84-75 decision to Motlow State in
the semifinals of the TJCCAA/NJCAA Region VII tournament on Saturday
night at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.
Sophomore forward Imesia Jackson led Southwest with 20 points and 12
rebounds and was selected to the all-tournament team. Also scoring in
double figures were freshmen Gina High (14), Jasmine Massey (12) and
Michelle Malone (12).
Southwest reached the semifinals by defeating St. Catharine 90-81 in the
quarterfinal game on Friday night. Jackson and High each scored 21
points to lead the Lady Saluqis. High added a career-high 10 assists for
the first double-double of her career.
The Southwest women ended their season with a 19-9 overall record,
including wins in 15 of the last 18 games.
