Southwest to Host Russian Educators

Southwest Tennessee Community College will be hosting six educators from various parts of Russia, from December 5 - 13. The purpose of their visit to Memphis is to observe educational systems and the governmental infrastructure that connects with them. The educators are highly skilled professionals, principals, and senior-level teachers with specific interests in elementary education. An agenda has been developed that includes local agencies, schools, and governmental offices.

The visit of the Russian educators is being sponsored by the Open World Program and the Open World Leadership Center and Academy of Educational Development of Washington, D.C. The theme of "Primary Level Education" is the focus of the group. Southwest faculty and staff will be accompanying the Russian visitors to schools, local offices, and governmental agencies; and especially to designated primary schools for the visitors to observe and compare our primary educational institutions with those in Russia.
