For Immediate Release Starkitsha Luellen, a sophomore forward from Memphis Melrose High School, was selected the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association Player-of-the-Year in a vote by conference coaches. Luellen averaged 13.7 points per game and led the TJCCAA with a 12.3 rebounding average. She recorded 13 double-doubles this season and had season highs of 24 points and 20 rebounds against Columbia State. In addition to Luellen, sophomore guard Candace Rucker (Memphis Northside) was also named to the All-TJCCAA and All-Western Division teams. Sophomore guard Daumonique Lenhardt (Bolton) and freshman guard Raquel Brigham (West Memphis) were named to the All-Western Division team. Rucker led the conference in scoring (20.9) and steals (4.2) and also led the team in field goal percentage (.556) and free throw percentage (.681). Lenhardt was the Lady Saluqis third leading scorer (9.7) and was second in steals (2.4) while Brigham averaged 8.5 points per game and led the team with 48 three-point field goals.
