Saluqis Basketball Team Leaps to Number Six Ranking in a National Poll

The Southwest Men's Basketball Team moved up four more spots to number six this week in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division 1 Poll. The Saluqis have won 17 games in a row and are 18-1 on the season.

Southwest ranks fourth in the NJCAA with a team scoring average of 98.4 points per game and also ranks 13th in team field goal percentage at 50.5 percent. After beginning the season unranked, the Saluqis entered the Top 25 for the first time on January 13 with a number 22 ranking and the team has rapidly climbed in the polls each week since.

Southwest will play Volunteer State on February 11 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium on Southwest's Union Avenue Campus and will travel to Jackson, Tennessee on February 14 for a matchup with Jackson State.
