Southwest Softball Signs Munford Standout

Ashley Reed, a pitcher-infielder from Munford High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her education and softball career at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

Reed compiled an 18-7 pitching record as a senior with a 1.94 earned run average and 135 strikeouts. She was also one of Munfordís top hitters this spring with a .364 batting average, two home runs, 19 runs batted in, and a .442 on-base average.

Reed, who helped lead Munford to 110 victories in her high school career, was a three-time All-District 13AAA and All-District Tournament selection and was also named to The Commercial Appealís Best of the Preps All-Metro Team.
