The Southwest men's and women's basketball teams each received a first round bye in this week's Tennessee Community College Athletic Association/National Junior College Athletic Association Region VII Tournament at the Billy Webster Center in Columbia, TN.
Southwest Men
The Southwest men enter the tournament with a 14-10 overall record and are the tournament's sixth-seeded team based on a 9-9 conference record. The Saluqis will take on third-seed Chattanooga State in a quarterfinal game at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 4. The winner will play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 6 against the winner of Thursday's game of Motlow State vs. either Volunteer State or Dyersburg State. The men's championship game is scheduled for Sunday, March 7 at 2 p.m. The TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII tournament champion will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament March 16-20 in Hutchinson, Kansas.

The women's championship is scheduled for Sunday, March 7 at 4 p.m. The TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII tournament champion will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament March 16-20 in Salina, KS.
