The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) released its all-conference and all-division teams at the recent Region VII tournament and two Southwest basketball players were selected All-TCCAA in a vote by the conference's coaches. In addition, four other Southwest players were named to the All-Western Division Team.
For the men's team, sophomore forward Deveyon Hunter (Memphis, TN/Hamilton High School) garnered All-TCCAA and All-Western Division honors. He averaged a team-high 15.4 points per game and was also among team leaders with 190 rebounds (7.0 average), 35 three-point field goals, and a .708 free throw percentage. Sophomore guard Deandre Bynum (Memphis, TN/White Station High School) and freshman forward Cortez Wilder (Ripley, TN/Ripley High School) were named to the All-Western Division Team. Bynum averaged 9.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while Wilder averaged 12.3 points and led the Saluqis with a .542 field goal percentage, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots per game.
For the Lady Saluqis, sophomore forward Kiana James (Jackson, MS/Callaway High School) was named All-TCCAA and All-Western Division after leading the team with 17.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Freshmen guards Shantel Crout (Cordova, TN/Cordova High School) and Krystal Riley (West Memphis, AR/West Memphis High School) were chosen to the All-Western Division Team. Crout averaged 8.0 points per game and led the team with 68 steals. Riley ranked second on the team with 9.6 points and 2.9 assists per game and led the Lady Saluqis with 58 three-point field goals.
