Former Saluqi Chosen in NBDL Draft

Dominique Johnson, who played for Southwest's men's basketball team during the 2007-08 season, was chosen by the Idaho Stampede in the third round of the 2010 National Basketball Association Developmental League Draft. In his only season at Southwest, Johnson was a second team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American, first team All-Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association (TJCCAA), and TJCCAA Player of the Year.

Johnson, a native of Detroit, Michigan, played the past two seasons at Asuza Pacific University in Asuza, California, where he was named first team National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American his senior year. Johnson was also a two-time All-Golden State Athletic Conference selection and was a third team NAIA All-American his junior season. As a senior, he led Asuza Pacific to a 28-10 record and runner-up in the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
