Former Saluqi Dominique Johnson Invited to Minnesota Timberwolves Training Camp

Dominique Johnson, who played for the Southwest men's basketball team during the 2007-08 season, has been invited to the National Basketball Association's Minnesota Timberwolves training camp for the 2011-12 season. In his only season at Southwest, Johnson earned second team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American, first team All-Tennessee Community College Athletic Association and conference player of the year honors.

Johnson went on to play two seasons at Asuza Pacific University in Asuza, California, where he was named first team NAIA All-American his senior season. He was drafted by the Idaho Stampede in the third round of the 2010 National Basketball Developmental League (NBDL) draft. Johnson played for the NBDL Texas Legends during the 2010-11 season, averaging 12.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 27 games and leading the expansion franchise to a playoff berth.
