Jenisha Jackson, a 6'2" sophomore from Sardis, Mississippi, has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division 1 Player of the Week for December 5-11. Jackson led the Lady Saluqis to two wins last week and a 12-1 record to start the season.
Jackson posted a triple-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds and a Southwest record 12 blocked shots in an 88-77 win over Jackson State on December 10. She followed that with 19 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots in a 77-66 win over Columbia State on December 11.
On the year, Jackson is averaging 12.2 points per game and leads the conference in rebounds (9.8 per game) and blocked shots (2.9 per game).
