Southwest Student-Athletes Receive TCCAA Academic Awards

July 13, 2017 - Twenty-eight Southwest student-athletes have been honored by the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) for their work in the classroom, receiving the TCCAA’s Distinguished Scholar Athlete award. To qualify for the honor, freshmen needed to achieve a 3.2 grade point average with 24 or more hours of college level work while sophomores needed at least a 3.0 grade point average and 48 or more hours.
In addition, Southwest graduated 83.9% (26 / 31) of its sophomore student-athletes including 100% (all nine) for men’s basketball.
