Welcome to the Southwest Fire Science Program! The Fire Science Program offers a variety of courses that are focused around the career objectives of the firefighter. The Fire Science courses are set up to accommodate the unique work schedule of the firefighter. It is a known fact that the firefighter is an individual placed on a 24-hour shift. Working from 7:00a.m until 7:00 a.m. the next morning normally. This causes hardship for those pursuing a college degree. The Fire Science Department set up the classes so that the same course would be offered in two consecutive days. Therefore, if a firefighter is scheduled to work his 24-hour shift on the night of a class, he could simply attend the consecutive class be it before or after the class he/she would miss due to shift work.

How the Program Works:

This Program is open to students who are interested in the Fire Service Organization or a future career with the Fire Service Organization. The Degree Program completion or involvement does not guarantee a fire service position or employment.
