The mission of the Mathematics Department is to
provide the mathematical skills required for career and transfer programs,
and to prepare students for success in a culturally diverse environment. The
department offers an Associate of Science Degree—University Parallel for
transfer to 4-year mathematics programs. This degree program is designed for
students wishing to transfer to baccalaureate degree-granting institutions.
Additionally, the Mathematics Department’s courses also fulfill General
Education Core requirements in Group 3 for all Southwest Tennessee Community
College degree programs.
