The Millington Center is located within the University of Memphis Millington Center, with a satellite location on the Navy base in Navy College. This partnership with the University allows increased accessibility, program and course offerings, student services, and resources for all of North Shelby County and the greater Millington community.

The Millington Center was established in 1972 when Southwest offered business courses at Navy College onboard Naval Support Activity, Mid-South. Southwest's partnership with Navy College allowed us to offer a variety of courses to support the educational needs of the greater Millington community, including our military families.

Locations and Hours of Operation

Note: These are one person offices; please call prior to visiting a location.

Millington Center

Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Located within the University of Memphis Millington Center, less than a mile east of the base on Navy Road.
Classes offered at the center are identified with a MILL prefix, e.g. MILL118.

Navy College

Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Classes offered at the college are identified with a MILN prefix followed by the room number, e.g. MILN 131.
Special conditions for base access procedures to take classes at Millington Center, Navy College facility.

Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC)

Southwest is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) which allows the College to better assist our valued military members and assist their families in meeting their educational goasls within the uniques challenges of military life. The Millington Center Director is the SOC representative and counselor for Southwest.
