General Administrative Assistant Concentration
To prepare for the Office Technology (OFAD) Office Proficiency Assessment & Certification (OPAC) test, the General Administrative Assistant concentration student must be able to successfully perform the following tasks:
- Edit and format from rough draft
- Bold
- Center
- Copy
- Delete
- Hard page break
- Hard return
- Indent
- Insert
- Move
- Spell check
- Underline
- Prepare a spreadsheet
- Change amounts
- Insert a category
- Key in a formula
- Change a label
- Insert a system date
- Save a modified file
- 5-minute straight-copy keyboarding (at least 45 words per minute [wpm] with 95 percent accuracy)
- 10-key data entry (8,000 keystrokes per hour with 95 percent accuracy)
- Format a letter
- Create a letter including all appropriate letter parts
- Insert files to create the body of a letter
- Spell check
- Save
- Alphabetic filing
- Numeric filing
- Proofreading
- Read copy and make corrections in spelling, capitalization, grammar, and punctuation
