Officer Batts' military experience has helped him to take pride in himself and in the performance of his duties. He exhibits good leadership skills and also sets a good example for the Officers in the department. He volunteers for tasks above and beyond the scope of his normal duties. He is fully accountable for every choice he makes and never seeks to avoid or shift responsibility to someone else. He can be trusted that he will act decisively, follow through on his commitments, and quickly correct any problems. When you combine all these characteristics of Officer Batts, this shows he is effective at developing, communicating, and reinforcing a shared sense of purpose throughout the department which help his fellow Officers feel empowered to accomplish goals that support the overall mission of Southwest Tennessee Community College Police Services/Public Safety Department and Southwest Tennessee Community College.
