Police Services/Public Safety
The Patrol Division is the largest within the Police Department. Patrol provides the highest level of security and public safety assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whether our officers patrol campuses or the surrounding area in vehicles, on foot or bicycles, they perform a wide variety of services. These services include, but are not limited to, responding to calls for service, writing reports, conducting preliminary investigations, checking the security of college property and providing traffic enforcement and crowd control during special events.
The Patrol Division is commanded by Assistant Directors Barbara Holmes and Linda Stanback consists of two Assistant Director, two Supervisors, three Police Officer II, five Security Guards, one Security Officer 1, 19 certified Police Officers. All Police Officers are certified in Tennessee as fully sworn commissioned law enforcement officers. Southwest Tennessee Community College officers enforce college rules as well as state and local laws. Southwest Tennessee Police Officers work closely with the Memphis Police Department and with other local, state, and federal agencies.
