Radiologic Technology Program
Selection Criteria
The Radiologic Technology Admissions Committee shall consider the highest
ranking scores to the maximum number admissible students as admitted to the next
official class. Alternates are chosen by the Radiologic Technology Admissions
Committee in rank order, based upon available space in the class, until the
published last day to enroll for the term in which the class is scheduled to
begin.
The Radiologic Technology Admissions Committee reviews and certifies the
eligibility of all applicants as defined in the Procedures and Criteria for
Admission.
-
The Radiologic Technology Admissions Committee ranks the applicants using the
following criteria:
-
College-level GPA GPA x 2
-
Prerequisite course GPA GPA x 2
-
Score on the Health Occupations Aptitude Test
score/100
- The Director of Admissions and Records calculates the earned Admission Index
of each eligible applicant and ranks all applicants accordingly.
- The Admission Index is derived by the earned score on each of the selected
criteria listed above.
- Each applicant and each alternate shall be notified, in writing, of their
admission status.
- Each admitted applicant must formally accept admission, in writing, by the
specified date. The student's medical record, along with documentation of
measles, Hepatitis B vaccinations, drug screen and a TB screening test must be
submitted to the Radiologic Technology Program Director, prior to Radiologic Technology Orientation.
- If an admitted applicant declines admission or fails to notify the Radiologic
Technology Admissions Committee of acceptance by the designated date, the
student’s position in the class will become vacant and offered to the next
highest ranking alternate.
- Eligible applicants who fail to gain admission to
a given class may reapply for admission to the next official class. Those who do
so will be evaluated and ranked in accordance with the above procedures and
without consideration to previous evaluation and ranking. Rank in one admission
process does not establish any right to the same rank or similar rank within
another admission process.
Appeal of Admissions Index and Ranking
If an applicant does not agree with the Admissions Committee’s calculation of
the Admission Index or assigned rank, the applicant may request a review by the
Allied Health Department Head and, subsequently, by the Dean of Mathematics,
Natural Sciences and Health Sciences. Such appeals must be made in writing
within 15 working days of the date on which the notice of the applicant’s
admission status was mailed.
