Scholarships offered to Southwest students can be awarded through the Southwest Tennessee Community College Foundation, through the HOPE Scholarship, or from community and professional organizations. As scholarships are dependent upon availability of funds, not all scholarships can be awarded every year.
A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is the basis for all types of financial aid awarded at Southwest, even scholarships, so go online to apply even if you do not believe that you are eligible for grant programs.
Many scholarships awarded to Southwest students have separate processes, deadlines, eligibility criteria, and application forms. The links provided here will introduce you to a wide spectrum of possibilities available from the College and numerous other philanthropic agencies, organizations, and individuals.
Through the generosity of individuals, corporations and organizations, the Southwest Foundation has been able to assist thousands of students attending the College. To learn more about scholarships for which you may qualify, please visit the Foundation Scholarship website. Applications must be completed online, and are due March 15.
Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarships (TELS) are offered by the state of Tennessee. It is required that you complete a FAFSA to be awarded this scholarship. There are many categories. To see if you may be eligible, please consult the Southwest Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) Web page. Final certification made by Southwest is required to receive funds once all paperwork has been submitted, so start early!
Students who are ready to Graduate from Southwest may wish to apply for a scholarship when transferring to a four year College or University. Area colleges and universities regularly visit Southwest to assist you with questions regarding transfer after graduation. A Transfer Advisor is available in the Advising office at the Macon Cove campus to answer questions regarding transfer.

The Access and Diversity Scholarship Program is designed to assist in meeting the College's goal to enhance education by increasing access and diversity at all levels. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria for Access and Diversity Scholarship will be identified as potential scholarship candidates. Recipients from the pool of qualifying students will be selected through a holistic and competitive process that considers an applicant's academic standing, educational goals, and other attributes described in the Access and Diversity Scholarship Criteria document.
