STUDENT NEWS: Skip the lines. Advise online!

Attention Saluqis:  Did you know you can be advised from the comfort of your home or on the go via your laptop, tablet or mobile phone?  You can!  The Advising Office offers online advising to ease the guidance process and cut down on the wait time.

Advising Director Nikita Ashford-Ashworth says online advising is designed to help students meet their educational goals. “We are committed to helping all students select classes and degree plans that will put them on the path to student success,” she said.

Ashford-Ashworth says online advising is ideal for students who:

  • Already know how to register, are in academic good standing, and want to secure their PIN for online registration;
  • Are participating in the College’s online program, also known as Distance Education; or
  • Do not live near a Southwest location or have other transportation challenges.

Students should know that Southwest abides by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, also known as FERPA, and cannot disclose such personal information as social security numbers and financial aid details. When requesting Online Advising, students must provide their Student ID or email address.

To participate in Online Advising, fill out the Online Advising Request form. A member of the Advising Office will follow back up with you to complete the process.
