Professional Licensure Disclosures
In compliance with the U.S. Department of Education, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC), and the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA), Southwest Tennessee Community College provides information pertaining to professional licensure in correlation with programs offered through Southwest.
Southwest offers courses, associate’s degree and certificate programs that may lead to professional licensure and/or certification. Southwest programs are designed for professional licensure within the State of Tennessee. However, many of our programs meet all or a portion of the "educational" requirements for licensure in other States and territories. Therefore, it may be necessary for you to contact the licensing agency directly to find out if a Southwest program will meet educational requirements.
If you currently live in a state other than Tennessee or intend to move to a state other than Tennessee and you plan to use the education completed at Southwest to seek professional licensure in your state, be aware there may be additional requirements for obtaining licensure. Please contact the appropriate licensing agency in the state where you intend to seek licensure regarding the requirements in that state.
