Room 134 in Union Avenue Campus Emergency Medical Services Building CLOSED for sanitation; Reopens March 29

Southwest Tennessee Community College has closed Room 134 in the Emergency Medical Services Building, also known as the Nursing Procurement Building, on the Union Avenue Campus for sanitation following a reported case of COVID-19. The classroom reopens Monday, March 29 at 8 a.m. The room was identified as visited by an individual who submitted a report of a positive COVID-19 test. Students with classes in this classroom should contact their instructor for the alternate location.
The Shelby County Health Department has recommended only closing the areas identified as visited by individuals who self-reported. Other areas of the building will remain open for operations while the College performs sanitation in the affected area in accordance with Back to Campus Plan guidelines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards.
Southwest is performing contact tracing and notifying individuals who may have been in contact with the individual who tested positive
All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test POSITIVE for COVID-19 are encouraged to self-report online on the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information will be kept strictly confidential.
