Child Care Center on the Macon Cove Campus CLOSED for sanitation; Reopens Monday, Jan. 25

Child Care CenterSouthwest Tennessee Community College has closed the Child Care Center on the Macon Cove Campus for sanitation following a reported case of Covid-19. The center was identified as visited by an individual who submitted a report of a positive Covid-19 test. The center will reopen Monday, Jan. 25.

Parents who have questions or concerns may contact Center Director Mary Palmer at 901-333-4500 for more information.

The Shelby County Health Department has recommended only closing the areas identified as visited by individuals who self-reported. Other areas of the building remain open for operations while the College performs sanitation in the affected areas in accordance with Back to Campus Plan guidelines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards.

Southwest is performing contact tracing and notifying individuals who may have been in contact with the individual who tested positive for Covid-19.

All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test positive for covid-19 are encouraged to self-report online on the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information is kept strictly confidential.
