Employee tests positive for COVID-19; College closes three buildings on Union Avenue Campus for deep cleaning

A Southwest Tennessee Community College employee that works at night on the Union Avenue Campus has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee last visited campus July 23 and identified the workspaces visited. The College is performing contact tracing and notifying individuals who may have come in contact with the employee.
In accordance with safety guidelines outlined in the Back to Campus Plan, the Allied Health, Nursing Procurement and Nursing, Natural Sciences and Biotechnology buildings on the Union Avenue Campus are closed for 48-72 hours for deep cleaning.
Students who have classes or testing in these buildings Friday, July 31 are to contact their instructors for information on class meeting and testing arrangements.
All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test positive for COVID-19 are encouraged to self-report online in the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information will be kept strictly confidential.
