Message regarding Supreme Court ruling

Dear Southwest:
Southwest Tennessee Community College is committed to the principle that a community cannot thrive without diversity, inclusion and equal access to a life-changing education. The landmark United States Supreme Court ruling that protects the LGBTQ community from workplace discrimination under the Civil Rights Act is a watershed moment in American history. The ruling affirms Southwest’s commitment and privilege to hire employees and serve students from all walks of life, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, color, age, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity. As a public, affirmative action equal opportunity institution, this ruling upholds our commitment to workplace equity and inclusion and our zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind. Community colleges are where doors open, ideas are born and dreams are achieved for everyone.
