Southwest closes select spaces on Macon Cove and Union Avenue campuses for sanitation; Reopen noon, Nov. 11

Room C-172 Southwest Tennessee Community College has closed Room C-172 in the Academic Building (MAC) on the Macon Cove Campus for sanitation in accordance with safety guidelines outlined in the Back to Campus Plan.

In addition, the following spaces on the first floor of the Parrish Building on the Union Avenue Campus are CLOSED:

  • Room 107
  • Employee breakroom
  • Men’s room                            

All spaces are scheduled to reopen by noon, Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The Shelby County Health Department has recommended only closing the areas identified as visited by individuals who self-reported. Other areas of the building remain open for operations while the College performs sanitation in the affected areas in accordance with Back to Campus Plan guidelines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards.

All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test positive for covid-19 are encouraged to self-report online on the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information is kept strictly confidential.
