Southwest closes select spaces in the Union Avenue Campus Nursing, Natural and Biotechnology Sciences building for COVID-19 sanitation; Reopen Oct. 16

Union Avenue Campus Nursing, Natural and Biotechnology Sciences buildingSouthwest has closed Rooms 108, 114, 116-L, and 207, along with the elevator, in the Nursing, Natural and Biotechnology Sciences building on the Union Avenue Campus for sanitation in accordance with safety guidelines outlined in the Back to Campus Plan. The spaces reopen Friday, Oct. 16.

The Shelby County Health Department has recommended only closing the areas identified as visited by individuals who self-reported. Other areas of the building remain open for operations while the College performs sanitation in the affected areas in accordance with Back to Campus Plan guidelines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards.

All Southwest students, employees and visitors who test positive for covid-19 are encouraged to self-report online on the coronavirus section of the Southwest website. The form only takes a few minutes to complete and all information is kept strictly confidential.
