New Southwest baseball coach George Sykes has released the 2012 schedule which includes
13 dates at Millington's USA Stadium, the new home of the Saluqis. Southwest opens the season February 2-4 with four
games at the Kevin Miller Classic in Panama City, Florida. The Saluqis will play Andrew
College twice and single games against St. John's River Community College and the
host team Gulf Coast State College.
Southwest will play a 27-game conference schedule with two-game series against each
of the members of the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA). The
Saluqis will host Cleveland State, Dyersburg State, Roane State and Volunteer State
and will travel to Motlow State, Walters State, Jackson State, Columbia State and
Chattanooga State. All home games will be at USA Stadium with the exception of the
Roane State series which will be at Bolton High School.
In addition to the games in Panama City, the non-conference schedule includes away
games at Williams Baptist JV, Northwest Mississippi, Mississippi Delta, Rhodes JV,
Holmes, and Wabash Valley and home games against Williams Baptist JV, Northwest
Mississippi, Rhodes JV and Southeastern Illinois. The Saluqis will also host the Flag
City Classic at USA Stadium on February 24-25.
The 2012 TCCAA/National Junior College Athletic Association Region VII tournament will be held in
Chattanooga, Tennessee, May 6-10.
