Southwest Announces 2013-2014 Men's and Women's Basketball Schedules
Southwest has released its 2013-2014 men's and women's basketball schedules which include 18 conference games and feature out of town tournaments for both teams.
The Saluqis and Lady Saluqis will open the season with exhibition games against the Southwest alumni on October 26 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium. The men's team will play its first regular season game against Victory University-JV (Junior Varsity) on November 1 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium then travel to Mid-Continent University-JV in Mayfield, KY, on November 5. Both the men and women open conference play against Chattanooga State at home on November 8 at the Verties Sails Gymnasium.
Other non-conference home games for the men include Mid-Continent University-JV, St. Louis Community College and Bethel University-JV. In addition, both the men and women will play Mid-South Community College at home and away. Highlighting the men's non-conference schedule is a trip to Tallahassee, FL, for the Tallahassee Thanksgiving Tournament while the women will compete in the Georgia Perimeter Classic in Decatur, GA and host the Lady Saluqi Classic.
The 2014 TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII tournament will be hosted by Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN, on March 4-8. The tournament champions will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament on March 27-22 in Hutchinson, KS, (men) and Salina, KS (women).
