business owners on how to market and sell their products and services online during
the virtual National Small Business Development Day celebration March 17, 9:00 a.m.
– 10:30 a.m. The SBDC Day celebration is an annual event sponsored locally by Tennessee
Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at Southwest Tennessee Community College.
Affectionately known as the SmallBizLady to millions of entrepreneurs worldwide, Emerson
is a small business coach, best-selling author of Become Your Own Boss in 12 months: A Month-by-Month Guide to a Business That Works and 20-year entrepreneur dedicated to helping small businesses thrive. Forbes Magazine named her #1 Woman for Entrepreneurs to follow on Twitter.
Due to the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, small businesses are having to
reinvent the way they do business with a transition to marketing their services on
the internet. Emerson’s small business savvy and advice will help small business owners
learn how to pivot from brick and mortar-based services to online services.
Emerson has lectured on small business at The Wharton School of Business at the University
of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Rosemont College and for clients including

CEO of My Faith Inc. Fayne has grown his firm into one of the largest black-owned
businesses in Memphis, serving customers in Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Texas and
Washington, D.C. Johnson-McKinney operates one of the largest home care businesses
in Tennessee.
SBDC Day is a national, collective proclamation of the impact America’s Small Business
Development Centers have on the success of our nation’s dreamers, innovators, and
