Thirteen Saluqi Student-Athletes Named NJCAA All-Academic

Memphis, Tenn. - For the third consecutive year, thirteen Southwest student-athletes were honored as NJCAA All-Academic for their work in the classroom. Kevin Okins and Tristan Swift from the baseball team and Breundria Ward from the women’s basketball team earned first team recognition for achieving a 4.0 grade point average for the 2021-22 academic year. Both Swift and Ward are repeat All-Academic recipients.
Second team selections (3.80-3.99 GPA) were Eli Hammonds and Nick Vaccaro from baseball, Sara Duke and Lauren Hebert from women’s soccer, Chloe Dunn from softball, and Juan Cajelli from men’s basketball. Named to the third team (3.60-3.79 GPA) were Makayla Ables and Taylor Chastain from softball, Charity Baxter from women’s soccer, and Fabian Nelson from men’s basketball. Vaccaro, Duke, and Ables were all repeat All-Academic recipients.
