Thirty-one Saluqi Student-Athletes Receive NJCAA All-Academic

Thirty-one Saluqi student-athletes have been honored as NJCAA All-Academic for their work in the classroom, the most ever for the Southwest athletic program. Cameron Baker, Chris Henson, Mason Little, Owen Phillips, Charlie Smith, and Bryce Turner from baseball, Eric Jones from men’s basketball, Hannah Rawie from women’s soccer, and Reagan Spears from softball all earned first team recognition for achieving a 4.0 grade point average for the 2024-25 academic year.
Second team selections (3.80-3.99 GPA) were Matthew Bright, Mitch Griffin, Declan
Spinner and Dylin Walters from baseball, LaTonya Bobo and Jaliyah Zackery from women’s
basketball, Alex Vandenbergh from men’s basketball, and Haley Gamblin from softball.
Third team honorees (3.60-3.79 GPA) were Dalton Brenner, Sammy Chapman, Jeb Cox, Ethan
Myers, Blaine Nunnally, Tripp Ray, and Jonathan Walsh from baseball, Hanna Crider,
Blakelynn Pitts, Jasmine Roach, and Charlee Smith from softball, Maria Carrico and
Josie Hargis from women’s soccer, and Journey Williams from women’s basketball.
Little, Nunnally, and Turner, all from the baseball team, were repeat recipients of
the NJCAA All-Academic award.
In addition, the Southwest baseball and softball teams were recognized as NJCAA ‘All-Academic Teams’ for achieving a team grade point average of greater than 3.0.
