KUDOS: Shawn Boyd receives Top 40 honors
Southwest congratulates Shawn Boyd on his selection as a Top 40 Under 40 of Urban Elite Professional. This group celebrates young professionals and awards them for serving in the community in five areas: Outstanding Citizen, Entrepreneurship, Community Advocacy, Arts and Entertainment and Education. Shawn was nominated by peers, fraternity brothers, work colleagues, friends and former students.
He has worked as a recruiter, retention counselor and coordinator of student affairs
in higher education and now serves as Associate Director of K-12 and Community Partnerships
at Southwest. When asked about his new position Boyd says, Of all my former institutions, I love the students here the most and that Southwest
is open to all regardless of GPA or ACT scores which gives them an opportunity to
succeed.
