Roxanna McCommon is new Academic Support Center coordinator
Roxanna McCommon joined Southwest as the new coordinator for Academic Support June 18. She brings more than 9 years of experience in education to the post. She has served as an educator for Shelby County Schools for the past six years.
McCommon was a Fulbright Scholar from 2009-2011 where she taught in Vienna, Austria. She also served as Coordinator for the Supplemental Services Program at New Vision Inc. in Nashville, Tennessee, where she led a team of tutors and tripled enrollment for New Vision's tutoring program. Her leadership skills and passion for students have driven her success. McCommon earned her Bachelor of Arts at Belmont University and her Masters of Arts from the University of Memphis.
