Southwest welcomes new fiscal operations director
Robert “Rob” M. Spokane joined Southwest at the new fiscal operations director June 18. He has a strong nonprofit accounting background, serving previously as finance director and internal auditor and analyst for Shelby Residential and Vocational Services, Inc. (SRVS), where he helped turn around the agency’s finance operations. Additionally, Spokane has solid controller experience, serving in that capacity for Weston Companies.
As director of fiscal operations for Southwest, Spokane will organize, direct and evaluate a wide variety of the College’s financial activities. He will oversee financial reporting, accounts payable, and grant accounting while assuring compliance with all institution, local, state and federal rules and regulations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP.
Spokane holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a minor in economics from Pennsylvania State University where he graduated with distinction and was inducted into two national honor societies—Beta Alpha Psi (accountants, finance and information systems) and Beta Gamma Sigma (business). He enjoys working out with his wife, Adrianna, and reading technical journals and inspirational books in his spare time. He also likes to volunteer feeding the needy and helping local nonprofits with their fundraising efforts.
Welcome aboard, Rob!
