Technology Division and the Small Business Development Council present Dr. Vernon L. Carraway Nov. 15
Southwest’s Business and Technology Division and Small Development Council will host two professional development sessions Nov. 15 featuring noted community college expert Dr. Vernon L. Carraway.
The professional development session How New Leaders Can Take Charge More Effectively will cover
- Self-promotion,
- Accelerating your learning,
- Matching strategy to your situation,
- Securing easy wins and negotiating success, and
- Achieving alignment.
Young is President & CEO of the Langston DuBois Institute, a minority-owned performance consulting firm specializing in developing professionals and designing programs through an effectiveness-based approach inside community colleges and small-to-medium size business organizations. He has co-authored two books: Community College Leaders on Workforce Development: Opinions, Observations and Future Directions (2017), and The Workforce of the Future: What Community College Workforce Developers Need to Know (In Press).
A session for the public will take place at the Small Business Development Council offices downtown and the second session, especially geared for students, will be at the Bornblum Library, Macon Cove campus.
