as part of the Department Forums series.

The Human Resource Forum, held on March 10 at the Union Avenue Campus and broadcast live for virtual attendees, delivered key updates and showcased ongoing improvements in the department.

It spotlighted enhancing processes, recruitment efforts, and the use of dynamic forms, demonstrating HR's commitment to better serving the college community. These forums align with Dr. Tracy D. Hall's initiative to foster transparent communication about college departments.

One noteworthy announcement addressed changes related to part-time retirees. The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) has requested the College to pause any post-retirement plans for faculty and staff. LaVetta Hudson, Vice President of People and Culture, acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the impact on current retirees and future plans.

The forum also spotlighted upcoming events. HR reminded attendees of the upcoming Annual Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony taking place on April 22 in the Verties Sails Gymnasium on the Union Avenue Campus as part of the college's 25th Anniversary Celebration. Those interested in attending will need to RSVP to HR by April 11 as the event will be catered this year.

To improve the timeliness of employee recognitions, Milestone Awards will now be distributed quarterly across all campuses. This change ensures that recognitions are no longer delayed unnecessarily.

Summer Institute 2025 will be held from May 19-22 at the Macon Cove Campus, providing a valuable opportunity for faculty and staff development. The deadline to submit proposals for this event is April 4, and they can be submitted online.
