Burress Hired as New Director of Academic Support Center

Dr. Briana Burress has been hired as the new Director of the Academic Support Center, where she will lead initiatives focused on equitable access, holistic student services, and collaborative campus partnerships. She begins her new role on Aug. 1.

Burress is an experienced educator, licensed school counselor, and student success advocate with more than a decade of leadership in academic support, mental health services, and higher education. She brings a proven track record of designing and scaling student-centered programs that enhance retention, academic performance, and personal growth.

Her background includes leadership roles in virtual and traditional K-12 settings, higher education instruction, educational consulting, and community-based mental health support. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a Masters in School Counseling, and is actively completing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

As founder of Bloom Within, she also champions wellness and empowerment programs for women, teens and families. Bloom Within is a wellness and empowerment coaching business that supports mothers, teens, and women through workshops, support circles, and coaching—helping them build confidence, clarity, and calm in every season of life.
