Writing Center
Welcome to the Writing Center presented by the Southwest Languages & Literature Department. This online resource is a repository of writing tips and tools for Southwest students and employees.
Goal
Our goal in the Writing Center is to assist students in their written and oral assignments at any step in the process and to work with students not only to improve their writing projects but also to help them to develop their abilities to be more effective writers.
Availability
Fall semester: September 5-November 30, 2023
Spring semester: January 29-April 25, 2024
Our English professors are available for in-face tutoring on English papers and assignments at the Macon and Union Campuses and the Smith Center. We do not require appointments.
Macon, 9 am-1 pm, Monday through Thursday, Macon Academic Building, MAB-139
Union, 11 am-1 pm, Tuesday and Thursday, F Building, room 304
Smith Center, 9-10:30 am and 11:00 am-12:15 pm, Tuesday; 9:30-10:30 am and 12:30-1:30 pm, Wednesday; room 128
We can also assist you virtually outside of listed dates and times. You can upload your paper through the link to the right of your screen or you can attach it to an email: our address is listed to the right of your screen. Be sure to include the assignment instructions and a contact number in case we have to do a TEAMS call.
