EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: Monica Crawford, Human Resources Assistant
Crawford joined the human resources team in 2016 and is responsible for entering information into the Banner system on temporary employees, adjunct faculty and work study students. She was selected by her fellow employees for going above and beyond her job expectations to train newer staff on human resources policies and procedures, take on additional assignments and responsibilities, and move projects forward. Crawford also was recognized for going beyond mastering the fundamentals of her job to possessing a wealth of knowledge about the Banner system. Fellow staff said Crawford is a team player and has grown to be a leader in the department.
“Thank you all for this award. It truly means I feel valued as an employee of the College,” said Crawford. “I love everything about my job. I love helping my co-workers and striving to make our department the best it can be.”
Each nominee is reviewed by a committee representing the Professional Administrative Staff Organization (PASO) and Support Staff Organization (SSO), in conjunction with the Department of Human Resources. Award winners receive free breakfast or lunch for a week from The Taste at Southwest, a reserved parking space of choice on his/her main campus for an entire calendar month (parking restrictions may apply) and are featured in the Southwest Scoop.
