CAREER SERVICES CORNER: Southwest co-interns graduate into full-time positions

Career Services Corner spotlights student interns, employment opportunities, new partnerships, special events and other career-related news.
Congratulations to Brian Crutcher and Michael Howell who were hired into full-time positions at Kele after participating in the Career Services Paid Internship Program. Kele, a large supplier of building automation products such as actuators, dampers, alarms, and control valves is headquartered in Memphis, approximately six miles Northeast of Southwest's Macon Cove Campus. The company's estimated annual revenue is $44M and employs approximately 120 employees
Brian was hired as a full-time technician I after successfully completing his intern position as a material assembler. Brian graduated from Southwest with his A.A.S. degree in advanced integrated industrial technology in May.
Michael Powell was hired as a full-time mechanical assembler/packer after starting his intern position as a material assembler. He plans on completing his electrical engineering technology degree from Southwest in Fall 2020.

Both Brian and Michael enjoy working at Kele and have impressed their supervisor, Panel Shop Manager Lisa Bennett, with their attitudes and strong work ethics. “Brian has been an inspiration for our team with his enthusiasm, ability to learn quickly, and his team-building strengths,” said Bennett. “His work ethics are outstanding as these core values have certainly contributed to his recent promotion.” Bennett said Michael began his first day executing a challenging technical assignment typically reserved for their seasoned associates. “Michael exceeded our expectations on the project and continues to do.”
